Disregard the mess behind me, we're moving in! |
I'm behind on my weekly posts because the past 2 weeks have been a WHIRLWIND of busy-ness I have hardly had time to sit. Plus I haven't been around the internet much. I have really grown these 2 weeks- someone asked me if I was due in December! I'll try to take a picture but I'll have to find the camera... I think it's still in a box somewhere (keep reading, I don't just keep my cameras in random boxes around the house).
The major thing that has been occupying my time has been that we closed on and moved into our house in Ozark. A few days after we moved in, Tyler went hunting in Washington with his PA buddies so I've had to get the place in order. My mom came up last weekend and was a huge help!!! We got everything into the house and even unpacked the kitchen! I was so very thankful to have my mom there to help, and it was nice to just spend time with her since I rarely get to see her. The house is awesome. The back of the house faces the east and we have huge windows along the back, which means our morning sunrises are gorgeous. When the sun sets it casts a shadow on our back deck that is perfect lighting to sit outside at dusk and have dinner outside. I've never lived in a house with carpet since we've been in Springfield and it's great to have something warm under my feet in the morning! The master bath has a jacuzzi tub that I've already been in. When mom stayed the night, she had her own bathroom to get ready in. Our new fridge has water and ice in the door so there's always ice and freezing water available. I love the house already and I've just been there for a week! I've been trying to unpack everything so that when Tyler comes back he won't have to do much. Plus it's nice to have the house in order, it's been driving me crazy.
ANOTHER big, huge event that took place is that our friends Brian and Ashley had their baby on Sunday! Her name is Kori Elise, and we will be seeing lots of her through our lives since they live down the road from us. She'll be Mason's new friend! It's crazy that she's finally here. Also crazy that in 4 months, it'll be ME in the hospital with a baby in my arms. Can't wait to see that sweet Mason face!
I should have waited until after my doctor's appointment to post! I went yesterday. Here's background info- before I got pregnant, I weighed 138. At my annual checkup that I had scheduled before I knew I was pregnant (in March) I weighed 138. I saw the OB, but not for a 'pregnancy' exam. When I got sick and couldn't eat, I dropped to 130. I first went to the OBGYN for my pregnancy exam weighing 130 so that's the weight my doctor has gone by- so... I've gained 7 pounds so far!!! He said I did a really good job gaining 5 pounds this month. I am so excited! And relieved! I started crying in his office because people have made me so paranoid. "You really should gain weight..." "Are you sure you're not starving yourself?"... "I've heard you should gain at least 30 pounds, I hope your baby is ok"... the list goes on and on. I told my doctor I've had a hard time because people weren't saying very nice things and he said "People are dumb. They don't know what to say to a pregnant person, and you and your baby are healthy and growing just fine. Don't let them bother you."
So now I have the confidence that I AM actually gaining weight and I have no more worries!! :)
On an unrelated note, I watched the presidential debate last night for about an hour. That's all I could handle. Pretty much "You're a liar, no, YOU'RE a liar!" I hear that with my 5 and 6 year olds. Don't need it.
Just read this, congrats on the new house! Can't wait to see pictures!
